Amazing Picnic Spot- Hirwa Van Garden
Snuggled in the hills of Piparia, this beautiful man made garden is on the Silvassa Dadar road. The name literally means “green forest” and the garden actually is at its natural splendour with well maintained green lawns, beautiful twin arches, stone wall structures and small artificial waterfalls. The Hirwa Van Garden preserves the serenity and its rustic grace just like Silvassa, which is still less commercialised, in spite of it being located just beside the hustling city Mumbai.
The garden is pretty huge with stretched green mowed lawn and paved walkways in the middle. The walkways are lined with various colourful flower beds. More than ten thousand trees are being maintained within the garden area by the municipality workers along with the overall cleanliness. There are roaring artificial waterfalls with misty cascades here and there along with ancient looking stone walls and the big twin arches makes the overall atmosphere tranquil. Throughout the garden there are small rocks like seats for people to rest and enjoy quietly the nature.
The garden has a separate water sports area, where visitors can have a fun filled afternoon along with family and friends. There is a children playing area with seesaw, swings and slips and a huge cage full of rabbits. The garden authority has kept provisions for night camping, perfect for adventurous star gazing amidst a forest like environment.
The entry fee to the garden is just Rs 20/- per person. The drive to this garden is along the awesome winding hilly roads of Piparia, and there is an open parking lot with free parking.
Hirwa Van Garden has accommodated almost all the ingredients required to become a joyous picnic location. For a weary city dweller, this garden environment is a place to lookout for peace and serenity.
